We Need More Leaders Like Bukele
Ever since I delved into blockchain technology and cryptocurrency, I've come to appreciate decentralization. To some extent, I believe this should be the way forward in addressing many of the current society's flaws. However, in rare instances where chaos reaches unbearable levels, decentralization might not work until the community is brought to a level of responsibility and well-being where all participants work towards the community's benefit.
I've been a fan of El Salvador President Nayib Bukele for a few years now, and it's not just because he made Bitcoin legal tender in the country. He's a young president, unlike most of the world's leaders, and his work for the country isn't driven by personal gain or ulterior motives.
About a year ago, he mobilized troops to arrest all the gang members that had been terrorizing and devastating the country for decades, incarcerating them and transforming El Salvador from one of the most dangerous countries into one of the safest. The remnants of the gangs that once ruled the country have vanished, and their legacy has been destroyed.
Bukele even had the incarcerated gang members destroy gravestones that still bore signs of gang membership. Nayib was criticized by human rights activists for this, activists who openly support public displays of homosexuality involving children.
While imprisoning criminals and having them work to earn their food is a contentious issue, it's not as shameful as the gay parades that currently take place in America, according to today's societal standards.
Recently, Bukele launched a campaign where he takes some inmates out of prison to work and earn their food. I support this initiative, as simply serving time doesn't adequately address the damage some criminals have inflicted on society.
Some might argue that Bukele's methods in El Salvador are akin to those of a dictator, and it's true that power is highly centralized in the country. However, as long as that power is focused on improving the nation and pushing it towards a better future, I have no qualms with it.
Sending the scum of society to jail and having them pay for their deeds is a shame but, the gay parades that are taking place in America right now are not a shame, according to the current society's moral standards of course...
I'd much rather live in a country like El Salvador than my so-called democratic nation, which has lost its spine and moral values and blindly follows the EU's directives.
To reiterate, I'm pro-decentralization, but until a community reaches a level of responsibility and well-being, decentralization may not work. Decentralized decision-making processes can be corrupted and exploited, and in some cases, a strong hand is needed to fix things properly.
I commend El Salvador's efforts with Bitcoin and the gang members' cleanup, and I'm glad to see Argentina moving towards recovery since Milei took office. Perhaps one day, my country will have a leader like Bukele. Once the necessary foundations are in place, we can discuss decentralized governance systems and the will of the people.
For now, I doubt any country is ready for full decentralization when it comes to governance systems... Just my two cents.
Thanks for your attention,
Adrian
Wow brother, Bukele's actions in El Salvador are bold and transformative. Cleaning up gang violence while promoting Bitcoin is impressive. We definitely need more leaders who genuinely work for their country's benefit. Nice brother !WINE
This won't work in a greedy and corrupt environment like African countries 🤣🤣
That’s exactly why we need more leaders like Bukele.
Keep up the good work. 👏🎵
