Who knows why he started this war? He is a man of impulse. He also wants to have more money. He also wants to make a place for himself in the history books.
I can't understand his motivation. The one thing I know is that he is not an idealist, and he has no regard for the rule of law, whether that be domestic or international law.

By the way, Currently, Iran is exporting oil to China in exchange for the Chinese yuan. Trump is waging war with Iran because he wants international oil transactions to be conducted exclusively in dollars.
Seeing the fact that the majority of Americans are in favor of war with Iran, I thought that Americans want to maintain the petrodollar system!

The people of my country do not favor war with Iran. We did not and do not. It is true a minority, mostly Trump supporters, do support this war. If Trump puts boots on the ground and we begin to feel the pain of the war more at home, this 37% support will surely sink.
As for petro dollars: Most people in my country do not think in those terms. This is too complicated. They don't think that far. Politicians and business leaders may think this way, but most people in the country respond more emotionally to the war: what is it costing them personally? Is U.S. sovereignty compromised? Is U.S. security compromised? Finally, the matter of national pride may enter in. That always happens in war. We are not there yet. Mostly my fellow countrymen want out of the war.

There is no way to win this war. There will be no winners. Whatever the outcome, the balance in the Middle East, and therefore in the world, has been altered. Alliances will fall apart. New alliances will form. Europe will be increasingly independent of the U.S. Canada and Mexico will be increasingly independent. I cannot imagine how the future will be. I know analysts predict a rise in China's influence, and therefore a rise in the influence of Asia overall. I don't know. I don't think anyone knows. I do know one thing. Those very powerful people who pull the strings and are insulated from the effects of war will continue to be powerful. I'm not even sure they will be insulated eventually. War is funny that way. No way to tell how it ends up.

Japan, Taiwan, and S.Korea want the U.S. petrodollar to be maintained. Because they have enjoyed development and prosperity as advanced nations by relying on the U.S. dollar economic sphere until now, they do not want China to rise to hegemony.
Japan, Taiwan, and S.Korea think that if necessary, a war with China would be necessary!
I think if China rises to hegeomy that will probably result in a loss of independence for these countries, eventually. China historically has displayed an appetite for territorial expansion. I can understand the apprehension of its neighbors. War...war however is dreadful. Let's hope nobody ever chooses the path of war. Let's hope independence and autonomy can be maintained without anyone resorting to that option.
