There is no way to win this war. There will be no winners. Whatever the outcome, the balance in the Middle East, and therefore in the world, has been altered. Alliances will fall apart. New alliances will form. Europe will be increasingly independent of the U.S. Canada and Mexico will be increasingly independent. I cannot imagine how the future will be. I know analysts predict a rise in China's influence, and therefore a rise in the influence of Asia overall. I don't know. I don't think anyone knows. I do know one thing. Those very powerful people who pull the strings and are insulated from the effects of war will continue to be powerful. I'm not even sure they will be insulated eventually. War is funny that way. No way to tell how it ends up.

Japan, Taiwan, and S.Korea want the U.S. petrodollar to be maintained. Because they have enjoyed development and prosperity as advanced nations by relying on the U.S. dollar economic sphere until now, they do not want China to rise to hegemony.
Japan, Taiwan, and S.Korea think that if necessary, a war with China would be necessary!
I think if China rises to hegeomy that will probably result in a loss of independence for these countries, eventually. China historically has displayed an appetite for territorial expansion. I can understand the apprehension of its neighbors. War...war however is dreadful. Let's hope nobody ever chooses the path of war. Let's hope independence and autonomy can be maintained without anyone resorting to that option.
