Captain America || the nemesis of Ross

Happy Day to my lovely hivians. I really hope we are enjoying our day. Someone recommended a particular movie on this platform about two weeks ago and I decided to give it a try last weekend. It is no other movie than "Captain America"

PLOT

Captain America: Brave New World is such an action thriller movie that was produced by Kelvin Feige and Nate Moore, this year, 2025. It centered around Sam Wilson (Captain America) and Thaddeus Ross, the president of the United States. So, after Ross, a former military general finally emerged the president of the United States. He then called upon Captain America to work with him and restarted the avengers. Captain America was however skeptical about trusting and working with Ross because of his past evil doings.

Captain America got invited to the Celestial Island World Summit at the white house, but he told the president he could only honour the visitation, if Isaiah Brandley, his friend, was also invited. The President needed Wilson so much that he had no option than to invite Isaiah.

It was however more difficult to convince Isaiah to honour the invitation to the white house. Isaiah recounted his travail by the government, how he was imprisoned for about thirty years and experimented upon. He therefore showed he had no trust in such people again. Captain America on the other hand could not but convince Isaiah that Ross Thaddeus seemed to have changed. Unfortunately for Isaiah, he met his Waterloo again at the white house during the conference.

He was impersonated through a flash of light from his cell phone to kill president Ross. The attempt failed as the president narrowly escaped but Isaiah and five other suspected ones were arrested and put in Prison from the event.

It was really a confusing incident for Captain America as he knew his friend couldn't have attempted to kill the president. He therefore decided to look deep into the occurrence and he discovered it was Sterns that manipulated Isaiah to kill the president. It was also the stern that hired a serpent to steal the discovered adamantium to cause mayhem between America and Japan that owned it and subsequently restart the war.

Captain America therefore went in pursuit of Stern and he discovered that Stern was once a mercenary used, betrayed and abandoned in prison (Camp Echo one) for 16 years by the president. Samuel Sterns was injected in his brain which made him capable of controlling mind and solving the president problems, including: helping Ross to emerge as the president, creating weapons and technology for the state and most importantly, providing certain pills capable of curing the president heart failure, all in exchange for his release but he was still detained after all. Stern really felt used and betrayed by the president and he was bent on taking vengeance on the president.

Stern became the thorn in the president's flesh, he was pulling several strings to destroy the president, attacking the white house, leaking information to Japan, pitching the two countries against each other and lots more. Even though Captain America and his mentee, Joaquin tried to avert the potential international war. Stern didn't give up until created a rage in the president's belly and unleashed terror on him at a press conference where the president got angry and turned into a hulk, who destroyed a lot of things and was later captured. It was learnt in the movie that he didn't just become a hulk, but it was due to the increase of gamma (a substance) by Stern, into the pills he was taking, which had already piled up in his blood.

Having come back to his normal state, the president agreed to his fate, accepted responsibility for his actions, gave up his presidency, and accepted his sentence. He was however able to see his estranged daughter again as she paid him a visit in prison. It was a happy ending after all as Isaiah was released from prison and Joaquin was recuperating from the critical condition he had been in. Captain America was smiling again at his loved ones. It was indeed a brand new world of adamantium for the United States after all.

REVIEW:

The movie is anchored on relatable themes such as: betrayal, vengeance, friendship, loyalty, technological advancement, love, nemesis, forgiveness etc. It explicitly portrays how a terrible past can still hunt one and destroy the present and the future. Thaddeus Ross used and abandoned a lot of people such as Isaiah and most especially, Stern in his political journey who later became his nightmare when he least expected. This shed more light on why they say, 'politics' is a dirty game. Nowadays, politicians go around and gather thugs to use for their political gain, and dump them immediately when they assume office. Little did they know that such were the people that become terrorists that kidnap their wives and children in the long run. Many of our political leaders nowadays deep their hands and legs in some terrible things to get power, which however make them indebted to too many people and hinder them from performing optimally when they get to office.

The movie heightened the importance of loyalty and good leadership. This was demonstrated among Captain America, Isaiah and Joaquin. Even when Isaiah did not want to work for the government, he later agreed because Captain America was involved. Joaquin was also loyal to his captain throughout the movie. He was at his beck and call and risked a lot following his captain's instructions. This deeply shows that good friendship and good leadership naturally attracts loyalty.

Captain America was just that needed friend, he was there both in good and bad times for all his friends, and they also stuck with him. Maybe our leaders do not need to do too much; no need for bribery, assassination or riot to win mandate. Once they have a good mind and good records, people will automatically support them.

Captain America, the movie also emphasised that sometimes, the end never justifies the means. It is not all about achieving one's goal. It didn't just celebrate the emergence of Ross Thaddeus as the president but exposes all the hidden actions he did to emerge and stayed alive as the president. The president's decision to give up his position, and accept the consequences of his actions did lots of justice to the movie.
