If "God" you mean the "government" they had at that time then I'm going to be on Satan's team.
Go Satan!
Seems Satan has much mercy.

Makes sense to me. Evil god kills very few, being happy with most folks, and the good god kills lots, because most people have it coming.
Thanks!
Or, the bible gets it backwards and jesus is the great deceiver.
There is no god but God... as the saying goes. I am not convinced Jesus ever claimed to be anything but a man of flesh and blood, which makes his grace to his torturers utterly remarkable (if he wasn't a masochist, which is kinda blasphemous to suggest), and meaningful to the rest of us meat puppets.
Yahweh, Jehovah, El, or the Father as Jesus referred to Him as, is your huckleberry, not Jesus.
I'm pretty sure that jesus got invented at the council of nicaea.
This guy says its all an allegory told by the initiates of a mushroom cult to fleece the profane, and keep the name of the mushroom passing down through the generations.

He reads ancient aramaic much better than I do.
I wasn't there and can't say. However there is a compelling theory that Vespasian created the New Testament using Josephus as a subject matter expert on Judaism to create prophesies his son Titus was the Messiah, and finally quell the incessant uprisings and malcontent of Jews in the Roman provinces.
I'm not particularly convinced psychedelic mushrooms are the basis for organized religion. It's an interesting theory based on real phenomena, but there is much such a theory cannot address, just as much as any organized religion itself, and Atheism too.
All I do know is that I'm incompetent to sort it all out and know for sure.
The more one knows, the more one knows how much one doesn't know.
This is the one thing I know.
Behold the Elohim of ancient times. The ones the present christians, Muslims and Jews call God.

Behold the religion:

As an old man with many years of contemplating my navel behind me, I find hour and a half videos regarding religion kind of offensive. I could die before I get to the end, man! Also, I long ago resolved my personal aversion to organized religions and find my only real religious goal is to die in battle so I can feast in Valhalla.
Edit: I confess the tasty jams drew me in. An innovative rock opera about the Annunaki? Very cool, actually. However, I suspect the translation is very loose, since they mention the asteroid belt which isn't visible to the naked eye, and such Sumerian or Akkadian reference would have rocked the world of physics. Also, after the naked sweaty men grappled, the report from the seventh planet refers to acceptable weight, which implies not only an understanding of the principle of gravity, but that planets of different masses would produce different weight, again a physics shattering revelation thousands of years before it's time.
Not gonna be able to have a great deal of confidence in this as an actual source of religious doctrine, absent peer reviewed confirmation of these startling physics revelations.
