Words Are Weapons Too: A UN Official Exposed What Western Media Hide
Craig Mokhiber, former Director of the New York Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, said on X what any honest observer already knows, and what most of the mainstream press still refuses to print:
"The constant sanitizing of language by Western media corporations on behalf of the US-Israel Axis is stunning. The attacks on Iran are not 'a war of choice.' They are the crime of aggression. The Israeli regime's attacks on the Palestinian people are not a 'war.' They are the crime of genocide. And the lawless dissemination of Axis propaganda by the media is not journalism. It's complicity."

This is exactly what we've been documenting on Syria News since the war on Syria began, the deliberate sanitizing of language to launder crimes into something more palatable for Western audiences footing the bill with their own tax money. We were criticized for years for refusing to call the head-chopping terrorists of Al Qaeda and ISIS "moderate rebels," the term the mainstream press insisted on. It's the same laundering at work when "aggression" becomes a "strike," when illegal unilateral sanctions never approved by the UN Security Council become simple "measures," and when a war of choice against Iran, the highest crime under international law as defined by the very victors of WWII who wrote the UN Charter, gets softened into something as forgettable as "tensions."
