An excellent 3 volume series on Churchill is by David Irving. I am currently reading Vol. 2 - fascinating.

I am no Churchill fan, although I do think that without him WWII would have ended differently. He believed in the superiority of the British. He made rash decisions without (it seems) regard to human cost.
He was reckless with life, including his own...went to the front lines to fight after his fiasco at Gallipoli. Fought in the Boer War and escaped. Complex to say the least.
Never heard about the Chemical warfare. Will have to look into that.
Thanks for the feedback.
