Do you care what a celebrity thinks about politics?
I would be willing to bet that the answer for most sensible people is "no, i don't. not at all." I think that for most non-sensible people this is the case as well and they only tend to think that certain celebrity opinions are worthwhile if they just so happen to align with whatever ideals that person already has.
I can't imagine someone ever changing their minds about politics because of something that Mel Gibson or Katy Perry thinks about something. Often, it seems like a huge gamble on the part of the celebrity because if they ostracize 50% of their potential fanbase, there can be a lot of repercussions that directly affect their ability to remain a working celebrity.
I kind of appreciate the celebrities that stay quiet about what their political beliefs are such as Keanu Reeves and I think Tom Cruise although Tom Cruise's opinion is probably rejected by anyone that he might support because of his involvement with Scientology.
Well recently something made the news about Jeff Daniels criticizing Trump and Trump voters for lacking decency or something like that. I didn't pay it much mind but I just kind of wondered what Daniel's motivation for saying anything actually was.

Jeff may have said this a long time ago, I don't really have any idea. Plus there is also the fact that I don't really recall Jeff being in anything noteworthy as of late, I could be wrong about that too though because i don't really follow movies or TV shows all that closely.
The point is, I don't really care what Jeff Daniels has to say about politics - I just like a few of his movies that are from a long time ago and most particularly Dumb and Dumber (although the 2nd installment was absolute crap.)
There are others that I recall tried to come to the forefront of political opinions and I don't really think that this benefited them personally all that much. Mark Ruffalo and Robert DeNiro have been really outspoken and since a lot of the people I know are conservatives, the friends of mine have decided to just boycott anything that these people have anything to do with. Their opinion about politics hasn't changed at all. The people that agree with them maybe support their work more but to me it just seems like a really risky chance to take.
Whatever it is you do for a living, would you take the chance of pissing off half of your customers to the point where they won't have anything to do with you anymore?
I don't really let it affect me this way, but I do find it really stupid when celebrities do this. When I look at some other celebrities though, I think maybe they do this intentionally and align themselves with one particular side because their own relevance has faded, and being part of the group chant that is Hollywood Liberal ideals, they don't think that being part of that group is going to benefit them very much so they opt for the other side.

By the time he started to openly support conservatives and most especially Trump, he was basically gone already. He was a prominent character on Family Guy and I found it really petty that when he did express his political sentiment that they removed him and all references to him from the show forever. I never watched the show that much anyway and I only know about this because I read about it.
I think an even better example of someone who is pandering would be Rob Schneider.

Rob was one of those guys that if you were to take away his basic sponsorship from Adam Sandler, what has he actually ever even been in that was memorable? Let's face facts here: If Rob wasn't pals with Sandler there is a very good chance that he never would have done much beyond Saturday Night Live.
However, he was able to thrust himself into stand-up comedy again simply by being one of the few ones that would speak about his conservative ideals. Call me a conspiracy theorist if you will, but the timing of this happening right about the time that Sandler wasn't making silly comedies staring Schneider anymore is pretty suspicious.
Again though, I don't care what Rob thinks less than what I care what Ruffalo thinks, or Taylor Swift because Rob's sentiment seems more manufactured than others and because of the timing where it coincides with the slipping of his relevance in Hollywood is kind of too strange to be a coincidence.
I do know that some of my more idiotic conservative friends who watch MSM like Fox are now huge Rob Schneider fans and it all just seems so sadly predictable. Would have they ever cared about this person if they didn't come forward like this? They feel the same way about Sylvester Stallone. Have you seen Tulsa King? I have, I managed 2 episodes.
I don't really follow politics nearly as much as I used to because it has just become so dirty and nasty across the board. I just presume that all players in the game are lying and this includes celebrities. I feel as though unless these actors or musicians are talking about acting or music, that I don't really care what their opinion is.
I personally find it quite dangerous to have a public political opinion... And I am not remotely famous.
What about you? Prove me wrong if you want. I don't mind being told that I am wrong about something if a person can do it in a calm and sensible fashion.
It's no Rocky but I enjoyed Tulsa King quite a bit.
In general, I try to ignore political comments from actors. I don't want an asinine comment (or one I just don't agree with) to ruin my enjoyment of a TV show or movie. I certainly don't give any weight to anything actors say about politics.
I hate how politics has become so absolute. It seems like either you hate Trump and therefore hate every single thing he does and can't give him credit for anything or you love every single thing he does and nothing he does could possibly be wrong. It's not just with Trump of course but Democrats and Republicans in general. It just makes no sense. Few people can actually discuss any of the issues in a reasonable way.

If you didn't know I've been getting downvoted for a long time on Hive
They have been trying to bully me with downvotes and words but it doesn't affect me I've been online for over 25 years
So I've dealt with people like this before it's nothing new

Hello everyone I hope you are all good and well today in this post is some of the evidence to prove my case
If you didn't know I've been getting downvoted for a long time on Hive
They have been trying to bully me with downvotes and words but it doesn't affect me I've been online for over 25 years
So I've dealt with people like this before it's nothing new
But what they are doing is bad Very badi joined steemit like everyone else thinking it offers freedom but I must say steemit offered much more freedom than Hive does
Everyone already knows I only post my own original content I have no need to steal anything from anyone
