Adams Bullion : Trump Assassination Round 2024

I thought I better put the year in the title since there might be more than one of these. Maybe I should have been even more specific and put July in there too. Whatever you think of the guy, an assassination attempt on a US Presidential Candidate is kind of a big deal. Historically speaking there has been a few, but not for a long time. New bullion player in Australia Adams Bullion is minting a round to commemorate the incident.

Not surprisingly the round shows the now iconic "Fist in the air" scene post-shooting with a couple of agents and the American Flag in the background. The obverse is just Trump carrying the American Flag. They probably could have done a bit better than that, but we will see if they sell. At the moment they are doing pre-orders and I thought they were aiming for a mintage of 500 but it looks like they’ll bust through that number fairly easily so this round WILL be made. The cynic in me sees this piece (and others like it) as being a bit opportunistic, though I’m sure Trump himself will love to see rounds like this being made and if there is a demand for them then that’s just the Free Market at work. The Left will no doubt be hating on all this stuff but I say let people have their fun with it. It's worth celebrating...

The world could have been a very different place today and regardless of what side you’re on (or if you’re no side at all) we should be happy that the shooter missed. Anyone who is supportive of assassinating their political opponents really should be having a good look in the mirror so count your blessings America because today you are still (relatively) United States.
