I never knew those facts about Puerto Rico and just presumed they were their own country and that citizens were US citizens. The lottery is a shocker and I do think it has run it's course and it seems only the desperate who cannot afford to play are the ones playing. Anyone with money may play the super jackpot roll over, but never playing the normal weekly.

I was always curious about that place as well. It is USA, kind of, but governs itself. I suppose this is a win for the people there in a way, but kind of burden in another way. I did notice that they compete separately in sporting events as their own nation though. This must be either an individual decision regarding sports that they just happen to be good at like baseball, or it is the decision of whoever it is that is organizing whatever the sporting event happens to be.
It would be nice if the economic prosperity of the US actually extended to this place but for the most part that doesn't seem to be the case. Maybe they don't actually manufacture anything. I do know that people think about retiring there instead of wherever they happen to be in America though.
