Platner went from "good" to "bad" and in the corrupt media's eyes, a "good" thing again
The media is just hilariously bad and the people who still pay certain institutions any mind whatsoever, well, you are dumber than the dumb dumbs that are running those places.

The Hill is certainly not a reputable organization any more than Conservative Brief is, but they still do get wide distribution for reasons that are probably similar to Conservative Brief. They are the National Enquirer arm of the Democrats just like CB is for conservatives.
They spout never-ending nonsense and when their take actually gets some attention it is normally for the wrong reasons. Their support for Graham Platner is one of those situations so now in an effort to run some damage control for both them and some of the higher ups in the Democrat party, they are doing Op-eds about how Platner being a scumbag can be a "blessing" for Democrats?
How you ask? Well, they do weave quite the web trying to justify that take and even repeat a sentence in the article which suggests to me that it was either hastily written or done by AI. If you want to suffer or smack your own head at the sheer idiocy of this publication you can do so for free, HERE
Just like most people, I don't think about the state of Maine very often. When I think of Maine I think "wow it's cold there" and "isn't Stephen King from Maine?" and that's about it. But with the installation of Graham Platner, all of a sudden this guy was all over the news. It was discovered that he had a very suspicious cover-up on a chest tattoo that is purported to have previously been a swastika, and there are a bunch of sexually-inappropriate messages from him to people he is not married to on record. There is also a statement that the man himself doesn't deny about really enjoying sex in port o potties.
How true is most of what I just wrote there? Well, given the lying nature of almost anything politics-related it honestly wouldn't surprise me if all of it was false, even though it does appear as though a lot of it is true. When even MORE sexual harassment accusations emerged just a short while ago, Graham Platner removed himself from the race.
The thing is that all the while that this was going on, major news networks and their social media accounts, major Democrat politicians, and even those raving Banshees on The View were in full support of this guy.

I don't know enough about tattoos or Nazis to have any idea if the claims of this being a "Nazi-style tattoo" is true or not. But it does kind of speak volumes that the man himself altered it and now it looks like a couple of dogs or a rat rolling around.. haha
I do think that if you are EVER in a room shirtless with a bunch of people wearing suits that your character should probably come into play at least a little bit though.
Anyway, I think it was fairly evident that this dude had a lot of skeletons in his closet but the political machine still rolled with the guy anyway. When he did finally back out, as you would expect, a lot of these same people are trying to claim they never really supported him or others are saying something along the lines of that they will do whatever it takes to unseat Trump... or something partisan like that.
Most of the intelligent media (if you can believe such a thing exists) wrote a story about the guy dropping out and then just left it at that. But really out there publications like The Hill had gone too far in to turn back and now they are attempting to spin this to say that "The Nightmare that is Graham Platner can turn into a blessing for Democrats."
It's something along the lines of suggesting that since they forced him out of running (they didn't) that this shows that the Democrats wont run undesirable candidates (they will.)
For me personally, I honestly don't care anymore what a politician's past is to a certain degree. This pretending as though all those people in DC are these angels that have a completely puritan past is just a load of nonsense, regardless of what side of the aisle they are on. If you dig far enough you are going to find dirt on anyone. In the case of Platner though, this was a really odd one that anyone on either side would try to say that this was a good idea. Maybe they know something about the people of Maine that I don't know.
But to try to spin this as a "good thing" after the poo poo has well and truly hit the fan, well that is something that only a trash organization like "The Hill" would so much as even attempt to do.

I really didn't care at all about this guy. I suppose it is important to dethrone their Republican Senator in Maine.
If Fetterman turned out alright... i think then whatever. Maybe everyone should be required to wear sweatpants to Congress :)
I do like that in the comments of the article that you linked that the people defending Platner always resort to "Trump is a sex offender!" ... that attempt in the media and online to make this a go to for anything kind of worked. It's stupid because it is social media influence and people just believing anything they see because they want to, but that has stuck and is now an excuse for anything in the eyes of many.
