What are the least biased news sources?

I think the best place to get your news from is likely the comments section of silly memes to be honest, but some people don't like all that digging. Over the years I have started to have a major distrust of basically all news outlets in the MSM and there are some that are quite obviously extremely biased.

People think of extremely conservative outlets as Fox News and Breitbart and maybe some people think about OAN but I don't really know anyone that looks to them at all, they must exist but they probably are sheep who don't even want the truth, they want nice-feeling lies or misinformation that caters to their already held belief system.

The same is true on the other side. I don't think anyone really believes that The New York Times, CNN, and MSNBC are unbiased and I don't think they really try to hide the fact that they aren't. The people I know who regularly read these things have very predictable answers to almost anything and almost anything can be made political in their minds.

But what are the non-biased news sources?

Unfortunately, they likely don't exist. The biases of the editors is always going to make their way through to the stories and in this day and age I think it is increasingly difficult for anyone to be both unbiased as well as successful. We only need to look at the only news source that I can really even think of off the top of my head, The Economist, and how their numbers have seriously dwindled over the years.

As it turns out the truth isn't very entertaining and while The Economist had turned a YE profit of around $60 million but for a company with nearly 6000 employees, this is not a very impressive number. In the meantime Fox News' earning in the same time period was over $1 billion and CNN pulled in $600 million. There's a lot of money in disinformation and that is the unfortunate truth.

There are obvious other factors such as The Economist not being a network TV show but I'm just going to leave that alone for now. If they were a TV show, I would like to believe that they would kill it, but that's not the world we live in. People seem to genuinely be more interested in hearing what they want to hear, rather than that which is actually true.

The Economist is a great unbiased news source but unless you are going to pay for it, you are limited in what you can actually read by them. I don't pay for any news so I don't get much of their stuff. I miss their magazines and they do still exist although it remains to be seen how much longer that will be the case.

So according to a wide array of sources the least biased news sources that exist out there are unfortunately not something that most people would head towards on purpose, but they are available out there. Do they still have bias? Of course. But if you want the least amount of BS and political slant, these places might be a good place to start.

Reuters and the Associated Press are generally considered about as neutral as you are going to get, especially when dealing with anything political.

Do they always tell the truth and never lean a particular way? of course not. One thing I like about them though is that you don't already know the conclusion they are going to come to based on the subject matter. This cannot be said of virtually all of the big names in news.

One source that I have been using a lot more frequently than I ever thought i would is the Christian Science Monitor and I, as well as probably most people, tended to ignore this one simply because the name of the company has the word "Christian" in it. One would assume that everything they would talk about would approach anything from a religious standpoint and therefore primarily side with anything conservative. It might surprise you to find out how not true this actually is.

They are non-profit and are in fact owned by a Church, but they don't seem to often allow that to get in the way of honest reporting. They seem to actually be following one of those 10 commandments that Christians claim to believe so much in and I actually like this.

I think if you are going to bother reading any news that TCSM is a pretty good place to go.

One really good place to go and the company is seen as a good source of determining the political bias of anything that is released is Allsides.com. These guys rarely do their own reporting but instead present a "hot topic" and then feature a link to an article from a left-leaning source, a link for the conservative counterpart, and then they try their best (sometimes in vain) to find something that is in the middle.

Even if you don't care about this sort of thing it can be quite amusing to see 3 stories pulling from the same information and see how they all come to wildly different conclusions.

The search for real news is probably a fruitless one, because for the most part news sources are installed there specifically to alter public opinion. They are very good at it too.
