if you genuinely believe the person in front of you is about to run you down, would that not be a 'last resort'?

You actually think that in case the driver intended to hit Ross, the best self-defence is to kill the driver while not knowing what will happen with the car when the driver is not in control anymore? The foot pedal may still be under pressure, ie the car is still coming at you.

At the end of the day, if we don't want to actually enforce the law, then why have it?

Am interested in understanding how this statement links to a federal police officer (ICE officer) shoot to kill while the victim is not a direct threat. How do you view the idea of the best self-defence against the indirect threat of being hit by a car, is to shoot the driver instead of jumping away?
