Pot holes and Erosion: When will the change come.

If you are working, then there is a certainty that you are paying tax one way or another, either directly or indirectly. The fact that people pay tax, it is believed that the governments should provide some basic infrastructure but the case is different here in my community.

For a long time, we have been suffering from bad roads and poor drainage systems. The community chairman and CDA (community development Area) people have met with the local government several times but there was no fruit to their labor. One thing that bothers me a lot is the drainage; we have no drainage and when there is a little downpour, people's houses get flooded with dirty water. People have started praying against the rain, things are not supposed to be like this.

Before I continue, I would like to welcome you to my blog. My name is Fashtioluwa, the one known as the alien on hive. It's nice to meet you here. Now, let's go back to discussing something that hurts my heart.

Every time rain falls, people are always lamenting because they know that some of their possessions will get ruined again. 3 years ago, the current governor of the state came to our community promising a good road and drainage system because he knew that is what the people needed the post at that time, but after his ascension into power, he forgot all his promises and all our cries fell on deaf ears.

Early this year, people took it upon themselves to start doing the drainage themselves. The community chairman pleaded with the people to try to fix their drainage and people started this. Some people's drainage system worked out well while others failed due to the heavy erosion.

A lot of many wasted and no one to help them with it. The road continues to get worse day by day with each rainfall.

The truth is that there would have been a lot of development in my local community if the road from the main road was done to our community. More people will be willing to get houses and build their houses in the community leading to more buildings, and more buildings means more people, and, more people means more businesses that will be established and will grow.

The lives of the people will become bearable but currently, the poor road and drainage have made life very difficult for us which has made it hard for other social infrastructure to be established in our community.

Coping with this poor road has been hard, people no longer run their businesses in the community but outside the community, I am sure that if the road is done, the community will experience great change.
