RE: Forward planning: Something I really like about Vietnam

I've been told something along the lines that nobody can own land, the government owns all of it... people just lease it for a long-term but there are a bunch of conditions where the government can take it back similar to the eminent domain laws that exist in the west. But foreigners can only own condos, no land, not even on a lease as far as I know.

I suppose this is a good thing because they have to protect their own people from foreign investors driving prices up and pricing the locals out of the market.
