Friday rush before the long weekend

"Today is a good day"

Friday. As soon as I woke up, I always try to believe that today is gonna be a good day despite the mundanity of my day. I prepare myself to go to my 9-6 corporate job, then go home. That's it.

The day was unexpectedly hectic. On top of my deadlines at work, my parents fetched me in the middle of my work because I had to sign some papers for our family business. It was all unscheduled and urgent so I had to comply.

If there is one thing I do not want to emanate from my parents, it's their anxious thoughts and lack of system. I understand that there really are times when all task are coming as urgent- I've experience this alot of times at work- but maybe a good system could've mitigate this.

I especially do not like down times with my colleagues because that would entail I have to do small talks. Knowing that I have some deadlines to finish, I dreaded socializing, especially if it's with my superiors at work. It feels like tiptoeing and I always feel cautious with whatever I say or do.

I'm not a social butterfly and have long excepted it already. Recently, I realized how important it is to have connections with the right people. And how am I supposed to find the right people? By talking to new people. Small talks.

Since it's mid-term election on Monday, hence the reason for the holiday in the Philippines, I'm taking my time this weekend to get to know the senatorial candidates. The least I could do, as a responsible citizen, is to vote responsible leaders.
