The Liberland delegation presented Dr. Paul with Liberland’s highest national honor, the First Class Order of Merit, recognizing his decades-long fight for peace, liberty, and sound money.

More than 1,000 people gathered in Lake Jackson, Texas, on Saturday, August 9, to celebrate the 90th birthday of former Congressman Dr. Ron Paul. Liberland was honored to serve as an official partner of the event, alongside the Ron Paul Institute for Peace and Prosperity, Young Americans for Liberty, and other organizations dedicated to the cause of liberty.

Two days later, the Liberland delegation—Minister of Foreign Affairs Thomas Walls and Washington, D.C. Representative Bruce Porter—was welcomed into Dr. Paul’s office. The delegation joined him and Daniel McAdams for a recording of the Liberty Report, where our visit was briefly highlighted. On this occasion, Dr. Paul was presented with the First Class Order of Merit, Liberland’s highest national award, recognizing his lifelong dedication to freedom, peace, and individual rights, as well as his profound inspiration for those working to build Liberland.

U.S. Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard joined us to celebrate Ron Paul's birthday

The celebration itself featured an impressive lineup of speakers. Among them was Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, a former Congresswoman and presidential candidate, who served in both the Hawaii National Guard and the U.S. Army Reserve. Director Gabbard, a close friend of Dr. Paul, has consistently spoken out against endless regime-change wars, defended civil liberties and privacy, and urged U.S. government agencies—including the intelligence community she now oversees—to adhere to the Constitution.

Other speakers and guests included former Congressman Justin Amash; Nick Gillespie of Reason; television host Kennedy, who is considering a visit to Liberland; Scott Horton of Antiwar.com; historian Tom Woods; scholar Jeff Deist; comedian Dave Smith; Daniel McAdams, co-host of the Liberty Report and Director of the Ron Paul Institute for Peace and Prosperity; Connor Boyack of the Tuttle Twins; Jeff Frazee of Young Americans for Liberty; Kentucky Representative T.J. Roberts; activist Matt Kibbe; the Free State Project and many more. The evening was capped by a performance from Jimmie Vaughan, brother of the late Stevie Ray Vaughan, who delivered a powerful set of Texas blues before Dr. Paul’s address.

“So many people here have told us we have by far the most interesting table here,” remarked Bruce Porter, Liberland’s Washington representative.

During our private visit with Dr. Paul, we presented him with the Order of Merit, an official letter, a deck of Liberland playing cards (in which Dr. Paul is featured as the ace of spades) and a Liberland flag pin. Dr. Paul graciously signed several copies of his book End the Fed. We also shared updates on Liberland’s progress and explored avenues for cooperation—including the possibility of naming a library at our Washington office the Ron Paul Memorial Liberty Library.

Liberland’s participation in this historic occasion not only honored Dr. Paul’s extraordinary life and work, but also deepened the bonds between his movement and our own. His vision of liberty continues to guide and inspire us as we build a free and prosperous future.

The people of Liberland, together with its government and President Jedlička and his family, send their warmest wishes for health, happiness and prosperity to Dr. Paul and all of his family and friends.

Thomas Walls, Minister of Foreign Affairs
