Jess Wilson Takes Over As Preferred Premier

Jess Wilson Takes Over As Preferred Premier
If you've followed my ramblings over time you are well atune to my love hate relationship with politics. Believe it or not, I despise politics which is what got me involved in the first place. At some point you grow up and you can't blame other people for things you can get involved and help shape. For me, it was mainly advocating for the western suburbs where I am born and bred.
Race, Colour, Creed isn't my thing I just went out and did it, but this Victorian election I can honestly say is one that is a nail biter. It is the election Victorian Labor should never be losing, but it is.
For those who don't know, the Liberal party (different from American politics Liberal means conservative in Australia) have been fighting each other internally where one MP sent their leader bankrupt over defamation. At one point, it looked as if the tin foil brigade took over the party as the policy positions they stood for were so out of this world you'd be mistaken for thinking you were watching a sitcom and not real life.

Shock Polling
The latest Victorian State Voting Intention (I like this application as this is only intention not an outcome) from Redbridge have One Nation (26.5%) now ahead of ALP (25.5%) and L-NP Coalition (21.5%) on primary vote nine months before Victorian State Election. However, some polls do show Jess Wilson ahead of Jacinta Allan as preferred Premier.
I want to address the first issue around One Nation, it is important to note that the polls are not an election outcome and the election is still 9 months away and it is anyone's victory. Voters are not silly either, they are sending a message to the major parties that they need to address their policy issues.
Instead many in the big blue and red machine have taken a shock approach considering One Nation to be a micro hard right party and believing Australian's are somehow different to any other nation. Politicians and political parties should have learned from oversees that voters do not separate them from each other. To a voter, politicians are all the same.
The other issue at hand is that Labor and Liberal have been spending time throwing ad hominin's at each other and have been void of any policy position. One Nation has released a few policies with their main one being reducing immigration. Is the policy any good? No, Will it change anything? No. But it is the only party putting a policy out while the others look like mundane school children.

Labor's losing position
Normally I would say it is too early to tell and it is but Labor has something that I am interested in knowing how it gets through and that is reports that the Premier had knowledge of bikers and organised crime syndicates on union sights and crime was occurring now this is yet to be fully proven, but in the court of public opinion the burden of proof is a lot lower.
There is also a precedent where the Liberals were caught having dinner with the head of a Mafia enjoying a lobster dinner Labor and their unions ran campaigns Lobster with a Mobster and they resonated with voters.
Fast-forward almost 10 years and we have Labor in a deeper pile of...... issues. Where the alleged conduct moves from wining and dining to $15 Billion of tax payer dollars. The Premier continues to deny the allegations but they are taking hold of the campaign.
I do not think Labor will be able to shake this one and I base it on their current campaign strategy and what they have implemented thus far. A few sledges were thrown at Jess Wilson as it appeared she may have made some errors in campaigning. Labor was quick to jump on it but targeted her generation saying "typical Millennial" this was a failure from Labor who has lost sight of the fact Millennial's are now the major voting demographics.
