Insurance Job Market Rather Skint - Trust Me, Were all in the Same Boat

Yes well, the Job Market is rather slim in the Insurance Sector I must say, at time of writing, only 120 advertisements, and most of them are dated, I could be wrong but personally I always generally assume you find who you are looking for rather swiftly, so if they are over a day or two old, I don’t even bother.

I must admit, I have been perplexed as to why I have not been “head hunted” by nearly every insurance company to be honest, they have intervention departments, who’s role it is to mitigate outgoing expenses to credit hire companies, by thus, placing them in their own cars, or persuading them to switch into theirs, which is a perfectly normal thing to do, I mean that’s a claims adjusters job, to mitigate outgoing payments, they are legally obliged to do so for their shareholders.

And you have someone like me, who has 9.2 years of experience, knows the industry like the back of his hand, how it works, who works, how they get around it, what consumers think, what consumers want, all of those things, I could quite literally increase the efficiency of those intervention / mitigation departments quite rapidly with the kind of knowledge I know, to say nothing, of my legal liabilities knowledge in the motor sphere.

Honestly, I sit here sometimes and wonder why my phone isn’t ringing off the hook.

Some of you may wonder what happened, well, if you believe the official narrative, its all rather doom and gloom and scary, in reality, was a bit of small talk, complimented a colleagues outfit, I was then set an impossible task and conducted file triage to solve it, and then I quite passionately asserted that I wanted to “take down a competitor” meaning, take market share, as you, do, and for those things, I was dismissed.

But in reality, I gave a complement, made a decision and solved a problem that I was asked to solve and then showed passion and loyalty to a company I worked for, and yes, for this I was dismissed, quite strange in all honesty, doesn’t matter to me now of course, all water under the bridge and I am a better person for it, would I do things the exact same way, of course not, but hindsight is 20/20 isn’t it ? But I still really don’t understand why my phone is not ringing off the hook, are there people out there I am competing with that also have just shy of a Decade experience and literally know the in’s and out’s of how an entire claims team, logistics team, recoveries team, and on-hire team work?

Really? That many people have more experience and ability than I Do? To say nothing of the fact, I always hit KPI targets, always aced QA targets, very strange, It keeps me up late at night sometimes, But these people operate differently, if it was me, the moment I got a slight indication a super high asset just got cut loose I would be picking up the phone and calling them straight away, but hey, that’s what you do, that’s how you gather talent, well it’s how I do it anyway.

But yes, if you are reading this and you yourself out there in Insurance land and banging your head against the wall, well trust me, I have just shy of a Decade experience and a perfect high achiever track record and even I am struggling, so trust me, I can empathize with you, people often ask me, what are you looking for? Lol, my old job would be nice, I was brilliant at it, (and yes, I asked them, they didn’t reply) so next best bet, jump ship as they say and go the insurer side proper, but none of them seem to enthused to approach me, I don’t know, maybe the people who read the CV’s and what not, don’t actually have dossiers on people in the industry.

But that’s something I do, you keep a mental note, or in some cases, physical note, of all the players in the industry, and you watch them like a hawk, if they have tech or talent useful to your battlefront, your either trying to poach them, or offering them roles when they are cut loose, but, that’s just me.

So yeah, if I could actually get back on my feet again, would be great, but apparently corporate Australia no longer subscribes to the “give them a go” mentality that once made this country great, lamentable, but that’s their own prerogative, I am Qualified, I have Experience, I have a perfect track record, and I have strength and valour of steel, and yet, no phone call, no email?

Well I will say this dear reader, you are not alone, keep thinking outside the box, and I have a few companies in mind for when I am back on my feet and have cashflow again, many of which, revolve around insurance, or insurance related products, as well as many more, that I have documented and undocumented, so trust me, I will “make a note” and to people that find themselves in this kind of position, on the other side of this, you are never going to have to worry about this kind of thing again, because I will be headhunting you, and I will be hiring you, once the financials work.

If I could only get my foot in the door somewhere, alas, competence, experience and work ethic is apparently not in vogue these days.

It is the 8th, I wonder if they got acceptance rate, you better have got your dam KPI Complex as well, don’t be slipping up Captain, never happened under me, when you let me do my thing, funny that, we ran like clockwork, until bureaucracy decided to interfere with things they knew very little about.

Such is life, is what it is.

So, I am with you, all the way, to the unemployed, or otherwise impoverished from the insurance sector, and I swear to you, and I promise to you, by the time I’m done, you will never have to feel like you do right now, ever again.

We will be, one day, a technological powerhouse, that I promise you, by hook or by crook as the saying goes, I will survive, and I will succeed.

News Nation held an interview, with an interesting chap from California, recently, and he mentioned that parties often have issue defining, what they stand for, what they are about, it gave me a moment of pause to define so to do organizations and as a result, I drafted the following, for clarity, cause and understanding.
