RE: Kirk's funeral revealed a lot

It seems Charlie has become a martyr for the cause and it's definitely not working well in the favour of those more left leaning in their political views when people go to the callous extremes of celebrating his death. Most people who are left leaning are distinctly non-violent, so that attitude will be repugnant to them and is making many question if they want to associated with the left at all.

Do we need to have a conversion about who Charlie was, or do we need to have a conversation about the fact that no matter which way or governments profess to be leaning they all seem to be heading towards crushing free speech and ushering in authoritarianism? It seems to me that Charlie is just another pawn in this power game.
