Now That’s Why Pakistan Is A S***hole. Volume 170 – Court allows forced marriage.
The Partition of the Indian Sub Continent in 1947 when the British Empire pulled out of India saw the birth of two nations. One of those nations is predominantly Hindu and that’s India and the other is predominantly Muslim and that’s Pakistan. India has become an economic powerhouse in the region whilst Pakistan, which is governed both culturally and politically by some of the worst forms of Islam on earth, is a scorched earth shithole. If you asked me what country or place would I least like to visit or have anything to do with then it would be Pakistan, closely followed by Bradford and Tower Hamlets in a dead heat second place finish.
As many of the episodes of this blog’s ‘Now That’s Why Pakistan Is A Shithole’ strand the adverse treatment of religious minorities by Pakistani Muslims has been a constant sub theme. It is a terrible place to be a Christian or a Hindu or a Sikh or a Buddhist or even a free thinking hetrogeneous Muslim. Such people are constantly treated as second and even third class citizens and abuses against women and girls from minority communities in Pakistan is rampant.
One good example of the cesspit that Pakistan has become comes from a report from Morningstar News a publication that monitors the oppression of Christians throughout the world that I found via the Religion of Peace website. This story tells of a Christian girl who was kidnapped by a Muslim man who has been told he can marry the kidnapped girl by a Pakistani court.
Morningstar News said:
"A court in Pakistan on Wednesday (March 25) upheld the marriage of a forcibly converted 13-year-old Christian girl to the Muslim man accused of kidnapping her, sending a wave of anguish and alarm through the Christian community.
Christian rights advocates and civil society groups strongly condemned the verdict by the Federal Constitutional Court (FCC), which granted custody of young Maria Shahbaz to Shehryar Ahmad, a 30-year-old Muslim alleged to have forcibly converted and married her.
Maria was abducted on July 29, and since then, her family has repeatedly sought judicial intervention to recover her, without success.
In a detailed judgment issued on March 25 – nearly two months after its short order on Feb. 3 – a two-judge bench comprising Justice Syed Hasan Azhar Rizvi and Justice Muhammad Karim Khan Agha ruled that Maria was of “mature age” and therefore in the lawful custody of her “husband.”"
Just when you think that Pakistan cannot become more of a cesspit than it already is along comes a story like this. Pakistan truly is the shithole of the world.
