I don't trust Politicians or Parliament!

Our Federal election has just been called and we will be in for a media frenzy and endless advertising for the next 4 weeks. I think things like this are one of the reason I enjoy hive so much, there a lot less advertising popping ups.

I suppose our politician's and parliament don't straight up lie but there is a lot of clever twisting of words, usually without ever answering any direct questions. Quite often they end up doing what they said the would not. The most resent example being Brisbane's new Olympic Stadium. Before the our State Election it was too expensive to get a new stadium, then now after the same guy got elected. We just have to have one. I don't really mind either way but it is just sounding like they are telling us what the polling tells them people want to hear.

With 3 levels of government it can all get a bit much especially when they all start blaming each other when things don't go right.

I always try to take a bit of interest in what the issues and differences are as I believe it is a privilege to have some sort of robust democratic system. This time looks like it will be another close election fought on the cost of living. So far one side is saying nuclear power and tax relief on fuel is the answer. The other is just about overall tax cuts. It is still early days I think there's still a lot more promises to be rolled out.

I suppose it will all come down to which ones you believe!

I think the local candidates look hard working and trust worthy but what goes on behind closed party room doors is anyone's guess.
