Bachure is drowning: how a 4am flood destroyed houses and properties in 3 days.

Hi guys, accept warm hive greetings from the adamawa northern part of Nigeria, and welcome to my post as I share 02 horrific days in bachure as floodwaters brought my former area to a disaster.

The past three days have been among the most terrifying and heartbreaking I have witnessed in my former area, bachure. It started as heavy rainfall at around 4AM on Wednesday last weekk, it quickly turned into a nightmare as floodwaters swallowed roads, homes, and businesses, leaving hundreds of residents stranded and helpless. The intensity of the downpour, combined with the city's poor drainage system, created a disaster that will remain in our memories for a very long time.

The rain fell relentlessly, hours, with no sign of stopping. Rivers overflowed their banks, gutters could no longer contain the water, and streets transformed into dangerous streams. Within a short time, many parts of bachure area became inaccessible. It was almost impossible to move around town. Vehicles were trapped in deep water, Public transport came to a standstill, and people who had urgent errands had no choice but to remain indoors, hoping the waters would eventually recede.

The saddest news is that people watch how the flood enter their houses, invade everywhere, they lost their food stuff, building, animals and so many other things that a flood can destroy. Its vey sad family watching how flood took away their furniture, spoiled their electric appliances, and so many other valuables they worked hard for years to acquire, its very painful in this kind of hardship and poor developing country.

It was really painful and heart touching, here is a video of someone reporting flood have invaded people houses, i felt very bad for them.

That makes me start thinking of flood management i was thought about, structural and non structural flood management, are our government really working to improve those area, so as to save many people from this disaster occuring, well they are but its not enough. They dont practice mitigation until after it occurs that is where they step up to try and help people with little compensation, so as they will take the huge amount to themselves. it really saddens me.
