Swedish environmental activist Greta Thunberg appealed for solidarity with Cuba.

She explained the serious crisis Cuba is facing and the US economic sanctions that are one of the causes, and while mentioning Cuba's history of sending medical teams around the world, she called out:
"Cuba stood up for the world, and now the time for the world to stand up for Cuba."

A humanitarian aid organization called Nuestra América Convoy ("Our American Convoy") is scheduled to arrive in Cuba on March 21st by air, sea, and land to deliver aid supplies.

I've known Greta Thunberg since she was about 15 years old. She started as an environmental activist, focusing on climate change, then criticized the Israeli genocide in Gaza, tried to deliver food and medicine to Gaza, and now advocates for Cuba.

Previously, I had the impression she was just constantly angry at unmotivated adults, but that changed when she recommended Naomi Klein's book, "On Fire: The Burning Case for a Green New Deal," which advocates for a Green New Deal policy.

In any case, she's no ordinary person. She thinks far more deeply than many adults.

私はグレタさんを15歳くらいの時から知っていますが、最初は環境活動家として気候変動から始まって、イスラエルのガザのジェノサイドを批判して、ガザに食料や薬などを届けようとしたり、今はキューバ支援を訴えておられる。

前は彼女はやる気のない大人たちについて怒ってばかりいるイメージがありましたがカナダのジャーナリスト、作家のナオミ・クラインのグリーン・ニューディール政策を提言した「地球が燃えている」On Fire: The Burning Case for a Green New Deal　という本を推薦する辺りから変わりました。

とにかく、彼女は只者ではないですね。下手な大人よりよっぽどものを考えています。
