RE: Putin and Trump: Visionaries?

Luckily, the future will not be ruled by land grabbers. Power is shifting, fast. The countries that will matter most are those leading in AI, renewable energy, strategic reserves like Bitcoin and gold, and soft power. That is where influence lives now. The age of hard power, oil obsession, and territorial conquest is fading. I genuinely do not understand Donald Trump’s fixation on Venezuelan oil when, in twenty years, it will barely matter. The same goes for Vladimir Putin and the obsession with Ukraine’s soil. The world does not need leaders stuck in an outdated century. We are moving forward, whether they like it or not.

That's an interesting perspective. I think one thing you are discounting is that most people don't think in terms of 20 years. Trump is lucky if he is alive in 5 years. Putin is probably looking at a longer future, but not much longer. I don't think these men are playing the long game (for their countries or the world). I think they want to go down in the history books for what they do today, for the effect that they have on the world today. I don't think they give a fig about what happens to any of us tomorrow.
I'm not equipped to assess your prediction. I don't know enough about oil, or AI or Bitcoin. I see a shifting world, a world that is vastly different from what was predicted when I was a child (1950s and early 60s). Who knows what changes are coming? Who knows if the sun will send a massive solar flare and mess up all our plans? We are small players in a vast universe, and even on our tiny planet there are so many variables that we cannot control.
Good luck in the future. I won't be there :))
