35 billion short!
Ridiculous
Belgium, a quite small country known for its chocolate, beer but also the productivity of its workers. Still, it has one big problem, the government overspends, for ages already.
This year we are 35 billion EUR short in our budget, or 5,5 % of the GDP. The worst of entire Europe!
It is ridiculous, really!
Sincerely,

It won't get any better soon I am afraid...
Oh dear Belgium, producing world-class chocolate and beer but also record-breaking budget deficits! Maybe we should start selling government-branded waffles to balance the books?
That 35 billion EUR gap does sound rather shocking though - perhaps they're spending all that money trying to decide which language to use in official documents?
Let's hope they find some creative solutions soon, before they have to start paying debts in chocolate bars!
We widened the gap with another 75 million yesterday. For giving free oranges and soup in schools… 🤷🏼♂️
