Trump Was ‘Meandering’ at Meeting with CEOs
Donald Trump failed to impress everyone in a room full of top CEOs Thursday at the Business Roundtable’s quarterly meeting.
Said one CEO: “Trump doesn’t know what he’s talking about.”
Several CEOs said that Trump “was remarkably meandering, could not keep a straight thought and was all over the map.
Neo-Nazi Group Designated as Terrorist Organization
The State Department on Friday designated the largest neo-Nazi group in Sweden and its leaders as terrorists, only the second time it has applied the label to a white supremacist group known for a long history of violence.
The decision comes as the group, the Nordic Resistance Movement, foments violence online and forges connections with like-minded organizations and people in the United States, officials said. Those actions have incited concerns among federal law enforcement officials responsible for thwarting domestic terrorism.

Trump disparaged Milwaukee, the city where he’ll formally accept the GOP presidential nomination next month. He also told a bizarre story involving an imagined relationship with former Speaker Nancy Pelosi. And he suggested a new tariff idea.
It was vintage Trump, treating the gathering like a campaign rally. The following few hours were dominated by GOP lawmakers and Trump campaign officials haranguing reporters for the portrayal of his comments about Milwaukee.
Trump called Milwaukee a ‘horrible city,’ then some House Republicans claimed he never said it, and then they admitted he said it but that he didn’t mean it.
It felt like we were back in the ‘clean-up on aisle Trump’ news cycles of 2017 all over again.

No One Is Talking About Brexit
The ruling Conservative Party—which ran on a slogan to ‘Get Brexit Done’ during the last election in 2019—doesn’t want to dwell on its former flagship policy given that about three-quarters of the country thinks it botched the terms of its divorce from the EU, according to a poll by YouGov. Just 15% of Britons think the benefits of Brexit so far outweigh the costs, a separate YouGov poll found.
The B-word is also rarely mentioned by the opposition Labour Party, which is on course for a big victory. Its leader Keir Starmer has said that he would like to build better ties with the EU, including on issues such as security, but has ruled out rejoining the bloc’s single market or customs union. During his speech outlining Labour’s manifesto on Thursday, he didn’t mention Brexit once.
Labour strategists worry that criticizing the policy, or pledging to reverse it, will alienate a core chunk of working-class voters in postindustrial British heartlands who voted to leave the EU in a 2016 referendum.
