Odds and Ends — 28 June 2025
I cook dinners for people with diverse food preferences so it’s often hit or miss about who will like/tolerate meals that I prepare but last night my wife, stepson, stepdaughter, and stepdaughter’s boyfriend all liked my experimental no-recipe orange chicken with stir-fry vegetables over Jasmine rice. So I guess this might have to be an addition to my culinary repertoire.

Birthright Citizenship Case Turned Into Class Action Case
An organization representing immigrants fighting President Donald Trump’s birthright citizenship order wasted little time seeking to recalibrate its legal strategy to block the president’s policy despite the high court’s restrictions on nationwide injunctions.
CASA Inc. is asking a federal judge in Maryland for an emergency block on Trump’s policy — which would deny citizenship to children of some immigrants born on U.S. soil — and said it has refiled its broader lawsuit as a class action case.
Class action lawsuits are one of the ways that the Supreme Court explicitly indicated Friday were permissible to broadly block a federal government policy.
