I really enjoyed reading and re-reading this post. Some posts like this one bring me back to think and analyse. I especially enjoy the historical context and the maps. There is so much history that gets lost in the media cycle and media hype. Thoughtful posts like these are why I enjoy Hive. And no ads to break the flow of reading and thinking.

Thank you very, very much, @rasbas. Some people say their posts take them an hour to write. This one took a few days. There was a lot of research, and then organizing my facts so it all made sense. When I receive a thoughtful comment such as yours, my effort is well rewarded.
