RE: I don't really pay attention to protesting news anymore

I've been on plenty of protests when I was younger and police action has resulted in ill treatment. I've also witnessed anarchist groups stir up trouble. I have no doubt that there are agent provocateurstoo but we also have to appreciate that some protestors are there because they want to make their voices heard. They don't like Trump, or the over actions of ICE officers, and at core they are unhappy because the American system feels like it is n decline. I hear commentators describe England as if it's falling apart but we've been in a slow steady decline for a century! Lots of people have deeply ambivalent views towards illegal immigrants to the point where it has broken the two party system. The division you observe in the States, where political manipulation overshadows public good, I feel is one widely shared. It's a good starting point for meaningful connection and discussion.

I certainly hope so. but at this point it just feels like political manipulation and lies rather than something that is actually grassroots and genuine sentiment.
