It's been a long time since I watched an Indian action movie, but the one I just finished watching is a thriller. The Diplomat is one of those movies that tells us about the diplomatic relationship between the countries of the world most especially in this case, between two Asian countries of India and Pakistan who in real life have shared things in common.

The diplomat, a political action thriller movie is a movie I would love to watch over and over again and this is because of the way the movie was written and presented to the viewer audience. At first, I thought the movie was a Hollywood movie with its title, but as I continued watching it and with the characters seen on my screen, I got to know that it's an Indian movie.

THE PLOT

The movie, The diplomat as directed by Shivam Nair and written by Ritesh shah was released in the year 2025 and it's a true life story of a lady named Uzman who was forced into marrying a pakistani man named, Tahir. Though Tahir pretended to have loved her when they met in Malaysia and tricked her to getting married to him. This marriage of inconvenience took place at buner a stony hillside of Pakistan by force after the lady Uzman was tricked to coming to paskitan from India. Her coming to paskitan was without her having a prior knowledge of what would be her lot in the hand of a man who did not love her but tricked her to coming to Pakistan.

It was on her arrival to Pakistan that he got to know whom Tahir was,but there's nothing she could do to save herself from the abductor. This went on for sometime before she found her way ro the Indian embassy where she helped through her predicament both emotionally and legally and later set free by the pakistani court after a long diplomatic battle between the two countries of India and pakistan to go to her country to unite with her family.

The movie featured characters like: Uzman, JP, Tahir, Noor, and others who really played their part and roles to the best of their ability.

THE REVIEW:

The movie had in it the theme of violence as can be seen in the way Tahir and his gang were bent on killing and taking revenge on the India ambassador to Pakistan and the lady in question Uzma. Aslo, the domestic violence suffered by Uzman and other women in the hands of Tahir and his people cannot be left unnoticed in the movie. Though. There's also evidence of love in the movie before Uzman was being tricked to Pakistan by Tahir so as to get married to him.

Still on the movie, there's also a case of corruption as this can be seen in one of the agencies of the Pakistani's government which is the police force who after the judgment gave Tahir and his gang himt on the movement of the india ambassador and the lady. Also, the event of threat to the life of people simply because of them seeking justice in the court cannot be left behind.

We cannot talk about this movie without making reference to the judicial system of the Pakistani nation. The judicial system of the country really severed justice rightly, though, their verdict on the provision of security to the victim to the wagah border was not strictly adhere to by the pakistani people as this can be seen in the way the lawyer hired by Tahir and his people led them to attacking the indian people on their way to the wagah border.

Also, the support of the Indian government and the embassy cannot be overemphasized plus the lovely family of JP, who was the Indian ambassador to Pakistan.

The killings of one of Tahir's wives who was on the run is another case of murder in the movie. Also the molestation suffered by his wives was an abuse of human rights. The forceful marriage of Uzman to Tahir in the movie is another highlight of the movie.

We cannot but talk about the brevity of JP who without any recourse fought for the lady and the government of India through his diplomatic efforts. Such should be the act of a good leader.

Seriously, the movie is an interesting one and like I said earlier, I would love to see it over and again.

Also, the calling of the Indian minister to show her solidarity support for Uzman at the court is another testament to the support of the Indian government to the lady and this later brought about her victory in the court. Atimes words of encouragement are what is needed to give us strength to overcome challenges.

Also, there's evidence of sickness in the movie as this was what led to Uzman being tricked by Tahir who mistook his care for her only daughter Noor as love, but later fell prey to the trick. One thing about people is that they use one's weakness to have access to one's life. This is what Tahir used to gain access to Uzman love.

Another theme of the movie is failed marriage and this can be seen in the way the marriage between Tahir and Uzman failed. Though, it was not a man of convenience at the all, but even at that, it's a failed marriage. Aside that, the marriage that produced Noor is also a failed one. Though, we were told told in one of her narratives in the movie, but that doesn't stop the marriage from being a failed one's well.

Also, the journey from the Indian embassy to the wagah border was another show of courage and strength. Despite the compromise from the police and the heavy attack on the convey, the man JP was able to show his astute leadership skill by taking on the challenge and this really helped them all to weather the storm. Also, taking the lady across the border to India was victory at last to both the lady, JP and the Indian government at large.

Also, I would not forget the clean and clear pictures of the movie. Also, the press conference by the India external minister, deputy high commissioner and Uzman is a testament of how grateful she was to the Indian government and not only that, the show of confidence and trust she had in the embassy and the institution of the Indian government.

Also, the speech of the minister that she was only doing her duty was one thing that got to me most in the duty, unlike this part of the world where those in authority would not even attend to their duties but lay claims to the result of the efforts there.

Uzman reuniting with her family is a testament that blood Is thicker than water and that real family also exists unlike those who abducted her in Pakistan without showing her love and even her daughter staying healthy is another plus to her.

RATING

I will rate the movie 8/10
