Incident inspires intense emotion
Oct 7th does exactly that. You can't explain to people how it was a false flag, they refuse to believe and set their convictions upon biblical dogma that it's historically always been that way. I had this conversation again with someone about two weeks ago now. I told them to go watch two videos and it would change their perception. The next time I saw them, they couldn't even look at me outside a quick glare it could have been possible, I saw them again yesterday, I still don't think they've convinced themselves yet they've been lied to.

Cognitive dissonance is the term.
Any idea that soooo upsets their apple cart is just dismissed out of hand, no amount of evidence is enough, only time can bring any seeds you plant to fruit.
I've found asking 'who wrote the book' is effective at removing the veils over their eyes.
Religious texts exist because they serve the established power structure, or the power structure would have more harshly punished those who had them.
