The United States Must Decentralize

The most progressive Democrat and the most conservative Republican will never be a problem for you, for each other, or for anyone else UNLESS they wield state power. The problem with politics is not extreme ideology but the extreme power of the state, which ideological people compete over.

Both liberals and conservatives think the country would be better off without the other, but the other side is not going anywhere. The liberal/conservative psychological dichotomy is natural, so both types will always exist in every time and every place. The only solution is to find a way to coexist and live peacefully together. To do that you must remove the centralized state power because as long as that exists, ideological people will fight over it. With that power comes the ability to decide what to do with the trillions of dollars of taxes the state collects.

The solution is to condense the Federal government, decentralize, and form voluntary communities where other people with opposing ideologies have no effect on your life. You can be as liberal or as conservative as you want in your private community, but you cannot force your ideology onto anyone else. Nor force anyone to fund your community through coercive taxation.

You want socialism? A private community can create socialism—but only with people who voluntarily choose to join (and leave when they want).

You want free market capitalism? You can have that too, in a separate community free from those socialists.

The true difference between capitalism and socialism is that capitalism allows people the freedom to do socialism, while socialism does not allow people the freedom to do capitalism.
