Let's Support Ross Ulbricht Now That He is Free - He Needs a Hand.
Every crypto O.G. knows very well who Ross Ulbricht is. The guy who spent years in jail for the Silk Road - the original Bitcoin powered 'dark web' marketplace.
Whatever you think of the Silk Road - please consider that acting to open up decentralised commerce is at the core essence of cryptocurrency.
In that spirit, please consider helping Ross to sell whatever he needs to sell. I have no idea if he is able to use crypto - but I don't see why he reasonably shouldn't. It seems he has been possibly blocked on Ebay from trading. Let's show him what community really means. If we can get him on Hive then that may help to spread the word that we are a true community in the original spirit of crypto. 💚

Ebay seems to be a very mainstream platform. Is there a marketplace in HIVE?
We had all that, and they all died from lack of interest.
They never provided the necessary level of features to enable them to compete with ebay, even remotely.. but that may change soon.
There have always been fundamental problems with running marketplaces reliably on hive. The main issue is that eBay is competing for the sales and it has an extensive team of support that offer dispute negotiation, plus payosl holds funds in escrow.
However, the new vsc system offers a way for us to create a real decentralised competitor to eBay. It will take quite a lot of work to perfect, but it's certainly possible via mark contracts.

Yes, it is very frustrating that there is not a decent crypto market place without all this KYC rubbish.
KYC has never stopped a single terrorist because they get all their money from nation states (like Qatar & Iran) and international institutions like UNWRA which don't have to pass KYC.
So the whole KYC thing is a rort that screws over regular people and doesn't stop terrorists or criminals.
