Sooner or later that is exactly what comes of excessive tyranny. A cursory glance through history shows this. In the 17th Century enraged Netherlanders not only lynched their Prime Minister, Johan De Witt, and his brother, but cooked and ate their livers. It's probably preferable to get the lynching bit before you're so outraged you are determined to eat the liver of your hated overlords, IMHO.
In fact, the sooner the better for all concerned.

Edit: from memory I think this happened in 1672.
I read they chose this approach because they were tired of waiting for modern technology to arrive to tase the liver to a medium well done before consuming.
