RE: What I Think About Cuba's Turn Toward a "Socialist" Market Economy

You are viewing a single comment's thread:

"...a professor like me, the doctors scattered throughout my family, my retired mother, and my uncle Chaguito can find socioeconomic peace—that is, dignity—from our regular incomes."

I earnestly hope that comes to pass, and soon.

Thanks!

Thanks, my friend. Though I will not be quiet waiting for the new system to produce a better life for us, I am trying to produce it proactively.

In truth you have exclusive control and command of you, and your responsibilities to your loved ones are yours, and yours alone, to bear. Should others fail to deliver what they are sworn to, that is on them, but your responsibilities cannot be born by others, so you must produce what is needed proactively. If there is any way I can help you do that, you have only to ask. I too have raised a family, and empathize more than you might expect with your dilemma in providing for them in the inhospitable economic environment you are in.
