Proving Yourself Human
MIT News recently posted an article entitled, 3 Questions: How to prove humanity online. Their main concern is how the advancements in A.I. could result in too many fake online accounts masquerading as real people.
AI could have the ability to create accounts, post content, generate fake content, pretend to be human online, or algorithmically amplify content at a massive scale. This unlocks a lot of risks. You can think of this as a “digital imposter” problem, where it is getting harder to distinguish between sophisticated AI and humans.
How do you know who is real? The solution, they believe, is to have an encrypted ID attached to a real identifier verified by government or other agencies.
To get a personhood credential, you are going to have to show up in person or have a relationship with the government, like a tax ID number.
And here we see a potential backdoor to regulating your access to the internet in the name of "safety and security." Of course the authors assure us this would be voluntary, but politicians in both parties here in the US want to regulate access, and this is an ideal tool. It's also supposedly planned to be voluntary for websites and their users, but I have deep doubts once the precedent is set.
If government is the party responsible for determining identity as human, how can we be sure they won't allow themselves sock puppets for propaganda? Further, it doesn't address the problems we see now where real people plagiarize robots for fake content.
AI is moving very fast, certainly much faster than the speed at which governments adapt.
This is why the government is the worst possible way to address any real concerns. Legislation is reactive, not proactive. Government applies old laws to new technologies regardless of merit, and we've already seen it happen with treating crypto as a security. We may have real problems coming, but we can handle it without technocratic overlords dictating who is allowed to be deemed "human."
One thing we need to start asking ourselves, when we need government issued digital ID to access internet, our money, start our cars, or pick up our kids from school,
A lot. And with life threatening results.

If you didn't know I've been getting downvoted for a long time on Hive
They have been trying to bully me with downvotes and words but it doesn't affect me I've been online for over 25 years
So I've dealt with people like this before it's nothing new
But what they are doing is bad Very badi joined steemit like everyone else thinking it offers freedom but I must say steemit offered much more freedom than Hive does
Everyone already knows I only post my own original content I have no need to steal anything from anyone
I've been labelled a lot of things on Hive 😂 by the biggest farmers scammers and downvoters
Actions speak louder than any words do especially when them words are coming from a compolsive liars

F the government(s). A Government has too much power here where they should be nothing other than a local organization that uses tax money to maintain the infrastructure of a country. Nothing more.
There is nothing else we want government for.
As for a system to verify authenticity online without the access to corrupt and use it against the populace... I believe decentralized blockchain technology exists already.
I'm no longer persuaded we need an extortionist monopoly for infrastructure either. They are all welcome to bugger off.

Even that is something that we could manage technically, ourselves.
In South Africa, some grocery stores sell kits for road repair called "Gat-vol" which mean both "fed up" as well as "fill hole" because many places the government does not fix the roads so a lot of the citizens do!
Check out Portland Anarchist Road Care. They're all nuts over in Portlandia, but some of 'em still manage real self-directed productive activism to spit in the face of the State.

If you didn't know I've been getting downvoted for a long time on Hive
They have been trying to bully me with downvotes and words but it doesn't affect me I've been online for over 25 years
So I've dealt with people like this before it's nothing new
But what they are doing is bad Very badi joined steemit like everyone else thinking it offers freedom but I must say steemit offered much more freedom than Hive does
Everyone already knows I only post my own original content I have no need to steal anything from anyone

Hello everyone I hope you are all good and well today in this post is some of the evidence to prove my case
If you didn't know I've been getting downvoted for a long time on Hive
They have been trying to bully me with downvotes and words but it doesn't affect me I've been online for over 25 years
So I've dealt with people like this before it's nothing new
But what they are doing is bad Very badi joined steemit like everyone else thinking it offers freedom but I must say steemit offered much more freedom than Hive does
Everyone already knows I only post my own original content I have no need to steal anything from anyone
I've been labelled a lot of things on Hive 😂 by the biggest farmers scammers and downvoters
Actions speak louder than any words do especially when them words are coming from a compolsive liars
