A peaceful demo to support Palestine with lot discussion

Even now two days later people fight against each other on social media - I think it was apeaceful event but there is only black and white in Germany - Israel has a special place it seems but the terror by the Israel government should be stopped in my view - at least many support Palestine here and get attacked as either right or left wing - shaking head!

Thousands of people demonstrated in Frankfurt against the war in Gaza. According to police reports, around 11,000 people gathered at Hafenpark - originally 5,000 had registered.

Chanting slogans such as “From the River to the Sea - Palestine will be free” and “Freedom for Palestine,” the demonstrators set off with Palestinian flags and protest posters. The motto of the demonstration was “United4Gaza - Stop the genocide now!” The route led from the east of Frankfurt to the Roßmarkt in the city center.

A speaker on the loudspeaker truck at the front of the procession downplayed the Holocaust and the Hamas terrorist attack of October 7, 2023, police said in the evening. He was then banned from speaking. Because he did not comply with the request of the police to leave the loudspeaker vehicle, he was arrested.

According to the police, individuals were also reminded of the ban on wearing masks. Isolated criminal offenses were identified, including suspected incitement to hatred and the use of symbols of unconstitutional organizations.

Frankfurt wanted to ban demonstration

At a demonstration with the same slogan in Berlin in June, 5,000 people had registered to attend, but according to the police, 12,000 ended up coming. There were 50 arrests and five people were injured. Not least because of this, there had been repeated discussions about the demonstration in Frankfurt in recent days.
