You Are Society

I thought I knew society, I thought I understood it but I don't. Yet there is something quite enlightening when you have such a realisation, when you have that epiphany moment, it's relief mixed with surprise and disappointment all at once. Then, as I have been forced to do, you ask yourself - what the hell is going on?

At that point thoughts inevitably turn to people. I look at my parents and their friends, my neighbours and their children. I observe supermarket workers, bus drivers and politicians talking and talking some more, but I don't get far. I ask crypto traders and doctors for guidance and support and I get a little, sometimes a lot but I still don't understand.

I'll talk to both my counselors but I still don't understand, I wont dare touch the mainstream media because I will definitely not understand, even the music that once built my world no longer helps me understand.

I think it's pretty clear they don't want us to understand, they don't want us to understand what's going on. But such is the nature of the human spirit that some of us want to understand, are determined to understand and spend our whole lives attempting to understand.

I had really hoped it was just me, it was my stuff that I was projecting onto the world, I desperately wanted to believe that's what it was about, but it was not to be. It wasn't me. It was society.

I hope Hive is the place that can help me understand. Can I find someone or something on Hive that will make me grateful for something, anything?

Please don't ever forget you are society and only you can change it, no one will do it for you. Get off your fucking arse and do something before it's too late.
