Dogecoin came into existence in December 2013 as a meme coin, but today it stands among the most successful cryptocurrencies in the world. It began as a fun, joke‑like token, yet at one point it even surpassed the combined trading volume of several top cryptocurrencies. It still stands as the top ten digital assets according to the CoinMarketCap database.

This reminds us that funny ideas and meme material can sometimes evolve into serious movements. A simple act of mimicry can spark a revolution, gaining so much popularity that it challenges established powers.

A similar pattern has emerged in India with the rise of the Cockroach Janta Party or CJP. It began after a remark by the Chief Justice of India who compared unemployed young people to cockroaches a few months ago. Overnight, a political party appeared on social media. It quickly gained popularity among young people, especially those who commonly referred to as Gen‑Z.

An examination controversy became the trigger that Gen‑Z used to express their discontent. A hunger strike launched by the Cockroach Janta Party for removal of the education minister gathered momentum and within weeks it had grown into a significant youth movement. Now, when Gen‑Z is openly revolting, the government finds itself under pressure. Once again, a meme has transformed into something serious.

What the future holds for this revolt remains uncertain. Only time will reveal whether it will become a success or fades away. But the rise of Dogecoin shows that if a meme coin can become a global success, a meme‑born political party can also evolve into a force that demands attention.
