It's programming us to think that resistance is fiction.
Your eyes tell your brain that the resistance won.
Your brain thinks you've done what needed to be done, but you only imagined doing it.
Good point - we view these films as a a sort of history, while we are to believe that modern tyranny is the "freedom" they fought for.
It was just a dream sequence.
That's because, when presented as fiction, the concept of tyranny vs resistance to tyranny is relegated to fictional, and so is unrecognizable even if it hits one in the face. For many of us anyway. It's called predictive programming, but I think its conditioning to suspend belief.
It's amazing that in real life the megacorporations are the resistance, just like the authoritarian government.
