Evolution of technology has rendered obsolete collectives that enable overlords to parasitize mass production and attain to sybaritic power and wealth. Folks that have the merit to themselves produce what they want with the new table top means of production can become independent and prosperous without parasitization - or suffering parasitic losses. The most important thing they can produce themselves is their security from armed gangs of thugs following orders. Modern security technology is orders of magnitude more productive than medieval chemically propelled slugs of metal.
