Very sound counsel. Also, never point or fire them towards other people if you aren't actually trying to kill them, as I have had to disarm three people for that reason in the past, and had someone less benevolent than me taken their firearms from them things might have turned out much worse for them than they did. I think the Police Officer actually got his pistol back after he sobered up. The other guys I never saw again after they ran away.
