And uncriticizable as to them.
The trouble is, folks think anarchy would be even worse, It's hard to fathom that our taking the law into our own hands would be better, but it probably would, possibly much better. Conjecture, sure, but also probable.
Most people I know are kind. I am well aware of some unkind people, and 99% of them I know work for some form of statist organization. Seems pretty likely from that perspective that human kindness and benevolence would be far advanced were no state organizations preventing it.
Do we really need criminals in suits to tell us how to live?
I'd think we'd dispatch criminals as we encountered them.
I blame Carry Nation.
She created the do-gooders, and it's been downhill ever since, imo.
Haters are one thing, but those that hate you for your own good are the worst of the lot.
It could be a question of imagination. Many of us cannot see that their rulers are criminals. My sister thinks Bill Gates and Obama, for instance, were heaven sent. Now there are those among my friends who think Trump is heaven sent.
We would dispatch criminals more efficiently, I am sure. There would be some mistakes and witch hunts, but far fewer than there are now.

The only thing they did wrong was to allow somebody to have power.
It corrupted him, and them.
It seems that most people are not prepared to look behind the veils.
As for Carrie Nation, she reminds me of a quote I just came across this morning
Panautarchy is the natural state of humanity. Hierarchical social structures arise as people interact and seek to improve their efficiency and productivity. The state arises far into that process, and therefore Higgs has the right of it. The existence of the state must be justified compared to the baseline natural state of humanity, and any other conceivable hierarchical structures.
Thanks!
Hierarchy is bad, m'kay?
Depends on circumstances, TBH. If you and I are in a trench under fire, I'm looking for someone that has survived that circumstance before to follow like a shadow. When it comes to building a deck, I don't need somebody to tell me how to do it because I've built a lot of decks that are still standing and supporting BBQ's.
Mostly I agree with you.
Following is not all bad, it's the power to give orders that handicaps hierarchy.
Power corrupts.
I don't think it does. I think when people get power, they let their power get to their head and the corruption within them is exposed. Some people even do that to themselves on purpose.
The last person to give power to is the person that wants it the most.
