Current surveys on American sentiment to these tariffs finds that about 60% of adults in the country think it is going to lead to higher prices, about 44% saying it will negatively impact the economy as a whole.

Some who voted for the current leader might be surprised to find out how the tariffs are going to negatively impact them too, as some farmers for example have alleged to losing meaningful sums already from the policy changes and what that might mean for their business.

It might be a broadly accepted idea but that doesn't make it a good one and many people are suffering and will be paying for the bad decisions of a few.
