I noted the place you pointed the irony around the 2nd Amendment really got me. So many people justify firearms as protection against government overreach, yet cheer when that same government ignores constitutional limits because it suits their side.

You can’t pick which parts of the constitution matter and expect the rest to protect you later. Once laws become optional for those in power, rights become temporary privileges. That’s not freedom, that’s just delayed control.

"Delayed control" - precisely. It is being friends with the bully, until the bully chooses not to be friends with you.
