You did not need to be a political theorist or analyst to know how this story would end. Arrogant, verbal incontitent people, tend to leave very little to speculation. They may be successful, even smart (for some standards), but if their actions are driven by arrogance, ignorance, reckless ambition and utter disregard for the other, principles, and law, it is a matter of time for shit to hit the fan.
As the piece from The Economist points out, there was a time journalists had to be very clever to read between the lines, to infer what politicians or important people really meant, to guess what was going on behind the curtains. That is no longer the case with the likes of modern authoritarians, moguls and self-centered celebrities.
Now that the dirty laundry is hitting the media we can only hope their pissing-contest mentality is primitive enough to provide enough evidence so that we can set apart conspiracies from facts.
We can theorize, though, that the departments or commissions pompously named will end up like their Latin American counterparts: Ministries of Happiness, Ministries of Urban Agriculture, Banks of Women, Truth Commissions and the like.
So much power in such obtuse hands!
