The Sun's gonna shine on everything you do....

I was born in the early 90s and by 2003-2004 I was already familiar with some of the evergreen legendary songs, and one of them was ocean drive by lighthouse family.

It was a graceful song and sometimes you can feel the song, remember and associate it with some youthful experiences and it's so good for real.

I don't listen to songs of these days, they're not good enough; a of them are ungodly, race-baitive in nature, appeal to some dark sense of longing, and purely carries no soul, need I say I miss being young? I do.

Life is missed up in many ways, the economy of Nigeria is one of the worst in the world, next to the likes of Somalia and Mozambique, you'd need to work for 10 to 15 years to be able to afford to buy a house or a car on top 10 paying jobs in the country.

The current president is a well known drug dealer, running rings of illegitimate business and being funded and helped by some of the topmost African richest men, they have connections in the grassroot.

It's just like a Colombian drug cartel running the currently, having the electoral body in their back pocket, the police, army, legislation and judiciary in their back pocket.

These guys are basically monarchs running a democratic system and they depend on bigotic and nepotistic Nigerian to legitimize their seat in power. 98% of cops in Nigeria are dirty.

These guys makes sure these guys stay in power, they kill innocent citizens, extort legitimate business and do all sorts of terrible things.

Sometimes I think the likes of Pablo Escobar didn't really commit the type of crimes Nigerian leaders does, and it's a shit hole in this place in so many places, and people still choose tribalism of revolution.

10 to 15 years ago, the economy of Nigeria was some of the best in the world, now people can barely afford to pay rents because of the cost of inflation eating into their salaries.

Oh my!

I forget it's actually a post about music, but my point is that the music we listened to in the past, the kinder experience of living a more original life, existing like a real humans, coupled with the evergreen music we listened to, no way I don't miss being a teenager again.

This particular song called Ocean drive had a theme of hope and that nice blues vibe that you can make you sleep, but basically I like to relate it to when life was simpler, better, fun and original.

I think the most wicked people aren't yet born, the world is losing quality at scale, good people are no longer governors, presidents and even head of world health organization are now being headed by greedy people.

It's safe to say the world is headed for a different direction, and sometimes all we have is hope and to continue praying that the sun gets to shine on everything we do.

I really hope your prayers for a better direction are heard. It’s a lot to deal with, but I’m glad you still have those songs to associate with your youthful experiences. Hang in there.

Well it's not completely "my experience". It's the experience of over 200m Nigerians though. Although In my unique way, I have my sad stories too..

One of my favorite songs, always evergreen.
Hope is all we've got in this life, that's the only thing we need to survive in this changing times.

Yeah, it was one of the best song of the late 90s, and teenagers of today haven't really lived as they never experienced the beauty of the 90s.

what really bothers me on nigeria is all the isis cells harming civilians expecially women

The book haram killing is very real and thousands of people have lost their lives and homes to this. It's a huge rot in the system and the economy as well.

I do hope that things take a turn for the better there. Those drug dealers in charge will eventually meet a bad end, they always do.

Keep the faith and hope alive is the best you can do!
