As it turns out, the Donald won't be able to make his guitars a thing. Gibson basically put a stick in the spokes, and thus it's probably time for the Donald to look for another grift.

You know, as someone who has built a few Les Pauls, I have to say this is surprising, but not really. I mean there's nothing to gain from Gibson going after someone like me, since the three or four guitars I've ever made with this shape mean nothing to them, but Trumps reach, and the sycophantic base who would by Trump Turds if they became available, do mean a chunk of the guitar market.

At any rate, it seems like it won't happen now. But, of course, we don't know this for a fact yet. I read on a comment somewhere that the builder would just have to modify the shape enough to get away with it, and thus the grift is not really dead. But, I suspect the "business idea" was to just slap stickers on stock they had already and not really building anything from scratch.

Oh, fun fact to share here. These guitars who are all about American excellence and pride are Chinese imports. I find that somewhat relevant.

Their own website explains:

This, my friends, is legalese for: "We string them up here in Merica and do a shitty setup here... everyone does the same"

I guess he has to stick to selling Bibles with his name on the cover. That seems to be doing pretty good for Trump.
