Please Mr. Government, can pump my bags?
I would love for someone to give me some clarity here—I'm so confused.
All of a sudden, those at the top—the ones who have always been rigging the game in their favor—jump onto cryptocurrencies, begin what is effectively a silent coup, and we are cheering?
Maybe I've become too much of a cynic these days, but it seems to me rather ironic that Bitcoiners began as this rebel group… and now want taxpayer money to pump their bags. Can someone please illustrate to me how this works?
How can I say, in the same breath: “Taxes are theft. Please, Mr. Government, pump my bags with taxes.”
In Vegas, at the Bitcoin conference, the talking heads spoke of the government becoming a real player in the Bitcoin game. The Czar of Crypto for the U.S. government even floated the possibility that the U.S. would begin purchasing Bitcoin directly. As we know, what they have is what they've seized.
After he got done uttering these words—couched in the caveat that they would find a “deficit-neutral” way of doing so—people cheered.
Do we even understand the language being used? What is “deficit neutral”? It simply means the government will take tax money from somewhere else—maybe schools, because screw them—and buy Bitcoin. Isn’t that awesome? All will be good now, guys! They’re going to pump our bags!!!
Listen, I’m exhausted by this stupid cheerleading. These circus acts don’t mention utility for a single second. The whole thing is about “We’re going to the moon!”—but nobody sits and questions: Who is the ‘we’ they’re talking about?
And to add a layer of ridiculousness to the whole thing, Saylor—yes, that man—comes out and declares that Bitcoin is the number one asset ever, period. That there is no second best.
Meanwhile, he’s selling “the second best” with his MicroStrategy time bomb. Are these people real?
Again, I’m confused because I simply thought most people got it. But it seems I’m the naive one here.
I, for one, have no interest in participating in this kind of pointless cheerleading. I find little to no value in almost everything they say.
This whole “Bitcoin to the moon” talk does nothing to help the common folk. We have people out there trying to make a real difference—trying to bring cryptocurrency to the masses, to empower them, to help elevate their quality of life. That is utility. That is how this whole thing works out for humanity.
Telling the War Box: “HEY… PUMP MY BAG” — is not only stupid, it’s also self-defeating.
Anyway, I’m done ranting...
I'm going to go find my smile. I left it out there somewhere.

Cryptocurrencies used to be about operating outside 'the system', but it's all about the money now and never mind the utility. I bet that a lot of people holding various coins have no idea what they do. Meanwhile we are using $HIVE every day in various ways and earning from it. People are spending it too. Of course crooks will get in on this, but we should not have to give up our privacy for them to be caught.
Oh and Trump can fuck right off with his crappy memecoins.
If we want $HIVE to do well then each of us needs to act to promote it. We don't need official recognition.
Hive could be the grassroots wonder

Bitcoin will always be second best at most, after freedom!!
that's exactly right!
